Question
How do I create my own tutorial on Hollow Art Resources?
Answer
We have tried to make it as simple to add a tutorial to this site as possible. To further aid you in adding your tutorial, we have included numerical guides within the upload form which cross-reference this page. The numbers referred to below correspond with the numbers included in the tutorial upload form.
First things first, go to 'Create Content' and click on the 'Create' button next to Tutorial.
- Enter the Title of your tutorial. This should be self-explanatory, but please consider that your tutorial will be listed in our index under this title, so you may wish to make it relevant to your subject!
- Enter a brief description of your tutorial. This section will appear on the teaser view for your tutorial and is useful in aiding people to assess the relevance of a tutorial when browsing. Please note that this section does not support html - text only please!
- Enter tags. Please choose a tag or tags from each of the boxes. There are two types of tags which are required for tutorials:-
- Application - these tags reference what programme your tutorial is compatible with. If your tutorial is compatible with multiple programmes, please hold down ctrl to select more than one.
- Type - these tags are for a description of the subject your tutorial covers. If more than one is relevant, please hold down ctrl to select more than one.
- Upload an image of the finished tutorial. The image can be uploaded directly from your computer to the site and should be an image of your finished result. This will display in the teaser view of the tutorial, as well as the top of the main page of your tutorial. If you are posting a photo-manipulation tutorial and wish your end result picture to show both a before and after picture, please feel free to display both in a single file and upload this.
- Upload helper files. here you can upload any files which you have used in your tutorial which you feel may be helpful for anyone following the tutorial. These can include anything from textures which you may have used to application-specific files, such as curves, brushes or .psd files.
- Enter your tutorial here. As stated this is where you put your actual tutorial! This section uses a rick text editor which means that you do not need to use any html tags within your tutorial (if you do, they will show up in your final post!).
